25 cards and going strong

So while I was cleaning out all of my stuff I came across a lot of 1/2 made cards and lots of scrap paper so I thought to myself... hey why don't you make some cards... so here are some of the 25 I have made. I was going for quantity not quality so they are quick, fun, and easy.

This one I made for my hubby. It's for our anniversary in July (I never seem to make one for him so while I was making them all he said "Hey, maybe you can make me one for our Anniversary?"

These are a couple that I made a sketch I saw somewhere?????

The dress I already had made and these are both made with all scraps

This was a sketch challenge at Splitcoast Stampers- SC162

Hope 2010 allows some more time for stamping and that Hubby gets a J-O-B!!!!!

Like my new banner?

Ok so Stampin UP! has really spread their wings and they are SOARIN! They not only have jumped on the Digital scrapbooking wagon- but also they are going to have acrylic stamps starting mid-January.

My friend Sharon whipped me up the new blog topper I had on yesterday and then she whipped this one up this morning- cute huh?

Well, during Jan and Feb SU! hosts Sale-A-Bration, for every $50 you spend you get a FREE stamp set. So, my suggestion to you- buy MDS (my digital studio) during January plus a few more items and get 2 FREE stamp sets. Give me a call today!

Snow Day 09

We went to the snow yesterday with our neighbor and good friend Kristi and 4 of her 5 kids. We had so much fun. It was a perfect day- not too chilly and the snow was still powdery enough to make nice snowballs but not sink in 4 feet when we went hiking.

Eddie loved sledding, Stevie was a good trooper even though he couldn't figure out how to get on the sled or walk in the snow, Savannah loved exploring and finding ice chunks, and Shawn was crazy- going higher and higher on different hills sledding forward, backwards, any way he could!

Coughing = Cards

I was up early this morning because I woke up- coughing (choking actually.) I have allergies + a cold+ heater on= a dry throat. So I drank some water and went to the craft table, after I did a daily devotional and checked my emails and FB :) I love to make up little pack of cards to have on hand for little gifts throughout the year. Here are some I made to pack up. I just find a sketch that I like (usually I take the first one I see, or I will spend all my time looking FOREVER on the computer) and make a whole bunch of the same style.

Try doing this with your scraps- that is what I used.
The stamp set is All Oval from SU!

Christmas Card Cheer

I recently received two wonderful handmade Christmas cards. The first is from my dear neighbor Melissa.

The second is from my desert/ SU! friend Michelle. Wow- I can't believe they actually pulled off making hand-made cards- Mine....... well, a Sam's Club picture card- with a handmade bow????

As I was sitting writing this (instead of doing what I should be doing) my hubby brought in the mail.... and I received another wonderful card- from one of the most creative, sweetest people I know.... Sharon. AND.... It contained a gift. A 1X1X1X1X1 milk carton box. Ok well, that is not really the measurements but it is an inside joke between Sharon, Sue, and myself. Sue and I are kinda well let's just say box impaired and our friend Sharon can just look at a piece of paper and it will turn into the most adorable cute box- right before our eyes! So here it is... Cute huh?

A Very Busy Week

Some of the Mommies giving the girls a break at the CAYA Christmas (a Homeless ministry)

Lots of baking going on over here. I whipped these Bag O' Breads up this morning for cute little give aways. Stamped the recipe card with a loaf of bread stamp that says I Loaf You!

Troop 526 at Mrs. Hope's House for their Christmas ceremony/ celebration.

Some of the girls from Troop 526 caroling at the convelescent homes

Shawn wakes up every morning and goes and lays on the kitchen floor where the heater vent is- "Oh- that feels nice!"

Issy and Shawn at my works Christmas program- Shawn did so GREAT!

Some the Ginger bread houses that I made with my students- they were soooo cute!

Every year my Best Friend and I get together to make the WORLD'S BEST TAMALES! We make about 10 dozen green chili and cheese, pork, and chicken tamales. I don't know what is better..... spending the day with her laughing, talking, watching TV, singing, or the actual tamales????? Thank you Glo for being so wonderful!

This was a tiny spill that we cracked up over- because the receipe that Glo picked this year for our annual cookie exchange was a Martha StewartRocky Road Brownie receipe. It was a little more work than just making some out of the box, but boy were they good- but we yelled at each other if we wasted any becasue each batch only made a small amount. We were cracking up- wne we saw the spill and knew that that tiny spill was equal to about 5 brownies :)

I love to bake and cook, bake more than cook, but hate to clean! But for all of my friends and family I make tray full of YUMMY cookies and candies. With Steven being out of work, we aren't able to buy as many gifts as we usually do so this year baking and spending time with family and friends has really taken on a very special meaning! Hate to say it but being broke really makes you realize all that you have, and appreciate everything that is given to you!

My Boy!

This post is dedicated to my boy. A 2 and a half year old, daredevil, jokster, singer, milk drinker, double time, come on let's go- little boy. He is soooooo much FUN! He is my true love! He is my EVERYTHING! He is my handful! He is my life! He plays on the 10 year old playground and keeps up with our two 9 year olds and a 15 year old! The stuff he does and says- like "Come on guys, DOUBLE TIME!"- just amazes us- Thank you Jesus for such a gift!
Last school year around May he was running and fell down and hit his two front teeth. He chipped one in half and pushed it up into the gums. 6 months later we had to get him some Veneers and a possible root canal. Luckily, he didn't need a root canal, and he was the BEST 2 year old patient that they ever had. He didn't cry at all until the dentist filed on his gums- OUCH!

So thankful!

The last couple of years we went to shop down our own tree but this year we has to go where the credit was still good- Ol' Faithful HOME DEPOT! They asctually had tons of beautiful trees this year- it was so easy to pick the very right one!

We had AJ or RJ helping us and he was so excited that my crazy lil' family came to town- he was bored stiff the last couple of hours- well, if you know me and my family- we were anything but boring :)

We set the tree up on Friday- forgetting all about the Mission Inn lighting :( but had fun decorating and turning the whole house into Christmas Town :)

Shawn is at the most absolute FUN age- 2 and a half. He is so funny- and so much trouble- but so worth it! He and I wish you a very peaceful Christmas season!

Un but lucky year

Well- hubby has been out of work for a loooooooong time, but we are healthy :) We had to take care of some extra children this year, but, their mom is doing GREAAATTTT!!!!! The truck didn't pass smog- but the government pays $500 so we are only out of pocket $250. The computer and camera crashed but my sister and I are back to being sisters, I have the BEST friends in the whole world, and we have never gone without a roof over our head or food in our tummies, so...... we have had some bad luck- but the GOD luck is oh so GOOOOODDDDD!

Well, I haven't blogged in a while because I was spending a lot of time on Facebook but I think that Cafe World gave me a virus and broke my computer three days ago. I restored it, but everything is wiped out. We have some back up disks but of course they just can't go in and put everything back on so nice and easy- noooooo, so I have to take it to the computer fix it guy.

So..... just thought I would wish everyone a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!

August Club Projects

These were the projects that we made for our club meeting. the girls spend $25.00 for 6 months and get to be the hostess one month. They get to make 2-3 projects per month for FREE! If this is something you are interested in please email me at samanthaesqueda@yahoo.com

The first one I made with Islands restaurant coasters and post-its. I stuck two coasters together and then covered the outside. Cut a 3X3 square and covered the left inside cover. I made a latch with some extra paper and a Velcro dot and taped that to the back of the right inside cover. Then I pulled off the back piece of the post-it note and put lots of adhesive on it and stuck it on the right inside cover and closed it up. then I decorated the front with the "Simply said" set.
The second one is a post- it note pad- decorated. Pretty self- explanatory.

Hope you like! Have a great weekend!
