Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!
This little guy I found on SCS under a "top note" search. He is one of my favorites that I have made. Unfortunately, when I like a card I have a hard time giving it away. Good thing there are pictures so that I can just send a picture of the card to my friends and wish them a Very Happy Turkey Day! That includes you!

Love, Samantha

We also made a frame with some alumininum snowflakes with the big shot (like the one pictured above) and then took out the glass out of the frame and hung the three different snowflakes in the frame.

Unidentified Swap #5

This cute little guy- didn't agree with me. This was the image that was sent to me and I had to decorate him and send him back. I feel sorry for the people that will be receiving him (sorry SCS sisters :( I really had a hard time creating a cute card- I had no mojo as us stampers would say. But that is what is nice about the SCS groups I am in. Sometimes we get WONDERFUL cards and everyone is very nice and understanding when we don't have such a great card. Hopefully my next one will make up for this one :)

Guy in the big red suit swap

Barb hosted another swap. She does this one annually and this was my second time being in it. Last year I really liked the cards I got back so I joined it again. Hopefully I will enjoy them equally as much. Here are the two that I made. The Grinch I found on SCS I just searched "Top Note" and of course millions of ideas came up. The other one I made because last year I had made a bunch of the circles and this year I am using my Big Shot lots and had just got the snowflake embossing folder- so decided to put those together. Merry Christmas. Enjoy

Here was my Halloween card for my swap that I hosted. Falling 4 Fall. I am trying to host a swap every other month and the theme will reflect the number of the swap that I have hosted, ie the next one will be "after 5" I kinda cheated with this one- there was no stamping involved. This was a cute FREE digi image that I received somewhere and I had printed them out so I decided to use them for this swap. I added the glitter and the spider web embossing and the crazy funky ribbon.

Mystery Swap #12

This month I was the "HOSTESS" which meant I got to pick the image and got to stamp 200+ images to send out 6 images to over 18 people. I really wasn't that hard, but at first I was like, "What did I get myself into?" The image I picked was the little pig with the saying "Are you cured yet?" from the retired stamp set, Farm Fever from SU! (available from me only for $15)

On the inside I made a little tissue box. I chose this image so that I would have lots of "GET WELL" cards for the Touch a heart minisrty that I am in. We write cards to people who are sick, having surgery, etc...

Food in the Forest Swap

By Golly I think I've got it! I have been stamping now for over 20+ years and still never got the whole layering technique down. I have been pretty busy in the craft room lately and I think the more I create the better I get. This was my latest creation and I really liked the way that it turned out. It is a retired SU! set- under the stars (for sale from me $15.)
I created this for a swap that I am on SCS called Food in the Forest. It is a lively bunch of chatty girls. Lots of fun, creativeness, and chatter!

Magdeleno Family Reunion IE style

So some of us didn't get to go to the HUGE family reunion in Dos Palos- which only happens every three years.I personally was throwing a fit- so mad- sad- all of it! I wanted my kids to go so bad and see all of their family. Family is so inportant to me and unfortunately not so much to my parents. They are not close to their family at all, so we are not either. But on my husbands side- they are extremely close. My husband, Steven, threw his back out on Tuesday August 20th while at school, wshing his hands. he finished the week out at school and we think that made it worse. By that Friday he could not move or walk. He went to the chiropractor, ried oils, heat and ice, nothing was helping. So we went to the doctor and got some steriods and muscle relaxers. Today almost 3 weeks laster he is 90% better. PRAISE GOD! But in the meantime, we are looking at 2 paychecks this month instead of 4. So we were not able to go to the family reunion. Steven's brother had a heart attack a few weeks ago and is not in the best health so he was also not able to go. Frankie, our nephew had to work so he stayed behind. I called my SIL Lola and said get everyone together we are going to wear our shirst and have a mini-reunion. So we did! As a freind put it, we made lemonade out of lemons.

Savannah Gets Braces

We took some before pictures. As you can see her teeth were not really crooked, but she had one that came in sideways and I figured it was my job to give her perfectly stright teeth.

On July 17th we went for a check-up with Dr. Han. He has been watching Savannah's teeth for the last couple of years and he said, "It's TIME!" So we scheduled the appt. for the next morning. July 18th at 9am, Savannah got her braces on!

She would hate me if she ever read my blog for putting this picture on....BAD MOMMY!
